IM K-5 Math focuses on supporting teachers in the use of research-based instructional routines to successfully facilitate student learning.
Additions and updates have been made to meet the needs for K–5 math teachers and students, including:
- Lesson plans designed to a longer class period (60 minutes vs 45 minutes)
- interactive grade-level, aligned center activities to support instruction
- reflective opportunities for teachers after each lesson and for students with journal writing prompts
- supportive activities for planning professional learning community (PLC) to highlight important math ideas and address implementation complexities
- embedded directions for building a mathematical community to foster students to express their mathematical ideas ongoing formative assessment support including a monitoring sheet
Kendall Hunt has partnered with Illustrative Mathematics to provide the ONLY FREE, digital IM CertifiedTM elementary school math curriculum for students in grades K-5. In addition to the digital content, Kendall Hunt also distributes IM CertifiedTM IM Professional LearningTM as well as print versions of the curriculum.
